Family Literacy

 More about Mrs. Curato

I am one of the lucky ones -– I think I knew in kindergarten that I wanted to teach! I completed undergraduate work in both Special and Elementary Education at UMF. My graduate work at USM was in Exceptionality with a strong emphasis on literacy acquisition and remediation. Since that time I have been fortunate to attend additional classes, conferences, and seminars to further my learning.

I have taught in several districts in Maine and out of state. My positions have included both special and regular classroom settings. I also worked as an Early Childhood Specialist helping to implement a family literacy program. 

Teaching is a passion for me. If I had to start over again, I would choose this profession in a heartbeat. It’s challenging, exciting, and always thought provoking.
